Learning is based on the pragmatic philosophy of “Learning by doing.” Hence, the curriculum is focus on skills integration wherein studies is not only confined within the four walls of the classroom but also doing a multitude of interesting extra curricular activities, that will explore their innate talents in various areas through games, sports activities, literary and cultural performances, industry visits and field trips.
Students learn more in a classroom where there is freedom and facility of movement and where the teacher plays the role of a facilitator rather than a dictator and the students doing the task, learning cooperatively with minimum teacher supervision to achieve the end goal of teaching.
I believe that the early years are the most important in a person’s life. These precious few years of childhood is recognized in CIS by using the “holistic approach” in teaching that is combining learning with lots of fun, joy and laughter which is the true meaning of childhood. Hence, Students learn fast if they enjoy what they are doing.
A nurturing caring environment is also provided to enable students to explore and take learning without risks without fear or failure and where every learner’s achievement is celebrated no matter how small it is. This is one way to motivate students to work more and aspire for more for wider and further learning.
To meet the emerging demands of a changing society, alternative learning styles are provided to develop and enhance students’ oral communicative skills in the use of different languages and equipped them with scientific “know how” that will enable them to be competitive in the world of work and be global professionals ready to face the global challenges at the onset of the 21st century.
